Interested Neighbors:
Anyone who is interested in helping to ensure the security of our neighborhood that has not had a chance to attend the VIP Certification class ,I could use your assistance as well. The VIP training classes are somewhat limited this year and I don't want this to discourage participation. I'll be glad to partner you with someone who has completed the training to give an orientation before sending you out to patrol on your own. Please let me know and I'll sign you up. Regardless, however, I strongly encourage attendance to the VIP Training classes. The DPD do a great job of providing insight into how to patrol: what to look for, how to document suspicious activity, how to place 911 calls, and even a behind the scenes tour of the 911 call center and DPD dispatch. It's all very informative! To take the class you'll need to submit an application to either Brian Monshower or myself. The application is sent to DPD for background checks and after approval, you'll be notified by DPD and invited to attend the training. After completing the training, we ask that you let us know so we may schedule your first patrol (if you're not already doing so). Below are the training dates for this year: Evening classes: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
- September 16-17-19
- Saturday classes:
- March 23
- July 20
- November 9
Please let me know if you have any questions. If not, I look forward to seeing you on the 12th!
